The Price Waterhouse Coopers office in The Hague is situated in a national monument at the Lange Voorhout avenue. A large modern atrium is situated in line with the monumental entrance hall, connecting old and new. “You are entering the 21st century”, says the architect from the Architektenkombinatie.
For this atrium Octatube realized a 18-meter tall facade, with a glass surface of 260 square meters. The structure of this facade is partly located on the outside and consists of seven round steel columns. Three stainless steel suspensions are fixed around these columns, with the horizontal span ensuring stability. Other tension rods are used for fixing Quattro nodes that are clamping the 1650x3600 millimetres glass panels. The high-tech facade system provides maximum transparency.
