Renovation of glass façades at Lijnbaan completed

Octatube Services has renewed the glass façades of the building at Lijnbaan 105 in Rotterdam. The renovation forms part of a larger redevelopment of the city-centre property. With this upgrade, the façade now meets current safety and comfort standards while preserving the original design.

The original façades, dating from 1998, consisted of single tempered glass, later fitted with solar-control film. Over time, the façades no longer complied with current safety and energy-performance requirements. The aim of the renovation was to retain the characteristic façade appearance while improving its performance.

Our Services team replaced all single-glass panels with insulated glass panels featuring an anti-reflective coating. The existing substructure of elliptical tubes and struts was retained, with reinforcements added only where necessary. The ageing edge finish was replaced with new stainless steel components, and the original glass nodes were upgraded to models designed for higher loads and a longer service life.
