Octatube lezing over Circulair Ontwerpen
Today we will be giving a lecture on circular design at the architects seminar of the National Steel Construction Day. The event takes place at Kromhouthal in Amsterdam.
The National Steel Construction Day is an annual informative event for construction professionals to gain knowledge about the latest trends and developments in contracting, designing and building with steel. A wide variety of activities are planned for this day including the Architects Seminar, where Barbara van Gelder on behalf of Octatube will be giving a lecture at 11:30. During the previous editions the event attracted an average of 1.600 visitors.
Based on a collection of projects realised by Octatube in the past 35 years, a presentation themed "lessons learned" will be given on the opportunities in the fields of design, conservation and recycling of steel stucture components.
The approach is from a practical and critical perspective: the presented projects, which all contain a certain circulair element, will be acting as a benchmark for Circulair Building. Examples of projects that are going to be discussed are: the Paperdome in collaboration with Shigeru Ban, the Glass Music Hall of the Beurs van Berlage, several space frame structures such as Tumult in Utrecht and the TPG Bridge in Hoofddorp.
