Sustainibility Award for renovation Casuariestraat

The renovation of an office building at the Casuariestraat in The Hague has won the second price during the annual award of the 'Gouden Kikker' Sustainability Award.

The Gouden Kikker is awarded annualy to projects that lead the way in the field of sustainability and innovation. In addition, the price has been established to encourage the development of sustainable building and promote the development of sustainable living, working, health care and education.



For the renovation of the office building at the Casuariestraat, Octatube has been responsible for the co-design, engineering, production and installation of the second building skin. The playfull glass facade has given the building a totally new appearance with simple detailling.
In close collaboration with the main tenant, engineering office DGMRFokkema & Partners Architecten has drawn the total design for the renovation of the decrepit office building that had stood empty for 2 years.

After the transformation of the buildling, the energy label has been upgraded from F to A.

The first price went to the town hall of Brummen, designed by RAU.
