This year the two-day event Engineered Transparency will take place as usual parallel to the Glasstec in Germany, the internationally renowned trade fair around glass. The Glasstec will open the exhibition halls from 21 to 24 October 2014, while the Engineered Transparency will take place from 21 to 22 October 2014. Mick Eekhout will give a presentation on both days.

Today the construction of the Van Gogh's Museum new Entrance Building has reached a sensational milestone: the installation of the longest glass beams in the Netherlands. These glass fins are part of the middle section of the new glass roof. The largest glass beam has a length of 12 meters and a height of 70 centimeters.

Yesterday the new City Offices in Utrecht have been opened for the public. The prominent building is situated right next to the central train station and has been designed by Kraaijvanger. It is characterized by white composite facade elements. In contrast, Octatube has built the 1100 square meters large curtain wall facade and a glass windscreen.
