In the context of the A15 highway widening between the Maasvlakte and the Vaanplein, the Dutch directorate for public works and water management realises the largest lift bridge of Europe in the port of Rotterdam. Commissioned by Ballast Nedam, Octatube is responsible for the bridge operator house that will be overlooking the Oude Maas river. The operator house will be prefabricated to a large extent.

This week Octatube will be presenting three projects during a major international conference on the Architectural and Structural Application of Glass in buildings and facades. The event is taking place in Switzerland on the campus of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Mick Eekhout, general director of Octatube and professor at the Technical University of Delft, will be one of the lecturers.

Octatube is proud to announce its comeback in Germany. In the 1990s, dozens of projects have been realised on German soil. Currently two large new projects that will be introduced later, are in the engineering phase: one in Neckarsulm and one in Munich.
