The 'Bicycle Apple' at the train station of Alphen aan de Rijn has won the National Steel Award 2012 in the category utility. In collaboration with the architectural office KuiperCompagnons, Octatube has made the (technical) design.

By commission of K. Dekker BV, Octatube has installed the steel construction of 2 glass elevators for the future train station Almere Poort (part of the Flevolijn). The station has been designed by Prorail and will be used in December of this year.

Octatube has realized a challening glass canopy at the main entrance of the Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem (Israel). The architect (Michael Schwartz) was inspired by Japanese Origami, what resulted in a design consisting of folded surfaces. This architectural language fits really well to the façades of the existing hotel.

ctatube has been granted to realise different glass building parts for the Mauritshuis museum in The Hague, that is currently radically being reburbished after a design by Hans van Heeswijk architecten.

EMC Educational Centre Rotterdam nearing completion

The Educational Centre EMC Rotterdam is nearing its completion (September 2012). One of the eye catchers of the building are 2 glass zig zag facades. The largest one has a free vertical span of 11 meters withouth mullions and a length of 60 meters.
